I am a composer/playwright/academic. I studied music at Stanford, CalArts, and UCSD and playwriting at the David Henry Hwang Writer's Institute. My works for theater and opera have been presented at such places as the Berlin Volksbühne, EMPAC, Keck Theater, Colony Theater and Montalvo Arts, and I have received grants from the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas, the Getty Foundation, the Durfee Foundation, the Center for Cultural Innovation, among many others.

I've published and presented on such topics as Asian and Asian-American (Mis)Casting; Asian-American Hip Hop; Asian Women Composers; and Accents and Code-Switching.

I also compose concert music and game music. If you've played the Star Trek slot machines in Vegas you've probably heard my music.
