HOLD THESE TRUTHS
Februrary 2022

On February 28, 2022, CAATA presented an online benefit reading of Jeanne Sakata’s HOLD THESE TRUTHS. Created in response to the sharp rise in hate directed toward the AAPI community over the past few years, Boston Court Pasadena, East West Players, and the Pasadena Playhouse joined forces to share a virtual presentation of Jeanne Sakata’s wonderful play Hold These Truths.

Beyond Orientalism Initiative
May 2016

Beyond Orientalism is a new national initiative spearheaded by Asian American Arts Alliance, Asian American Performers Action Coalition (AAPAC), Theatre Communications Group (TCG), Alliance for Inclusion in the Arts and the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center to combat the pervasiveness of yellow face, brown face, and white washing in US culture as well as to advocate for more API representation in the arts.

INFLECTIONS
June 2021

In June 2021, Second Generation Productions in partnership with CAATA and Howlround presented Inflections, five short new works about the undulations of the Asian American life. These 2g commissioned pieces were presented online as part of the CAATA’s "Healing Over Hate" Virtual Series.
