Alexandra Haddad

Alexandra directs with a focus on new work, comedy, and classics & post-colonialism. As a director, she prioritizes making theatre by, for, and about people who are not fully represented onstage. This includes women, queer people, and people of the Global South and the global majority. Alex is the Artistic Assistant/Hellen Gurley Brown Fellow at McCarter Theatre Centre. Alex is also an intimacy choreographer and fight choreographer, affiliated with Theatrical Intimacy Education. She has previously worked as a stage manager and sound designer. She is a member of the 2021 cohort with Directors Lab North. In addition to English, Alex is a native French speaker and grew up both in the United States and the United Kingdom. With her mixed cultural heritage and global perspective, she identifies as a “Third Culture Kid.” She is based in New York.
