Gary T. Kubota
Gary T. Kubota is poet, songwriter, and playwright. His play Legend Of Ko’olau, commissioned through a grant from the National Performance Network of New Orleans, is touring nationally. He's written a dramatic musical comedy Nexx Stop Cafe, involving a multi-ethnic cast of actors, and is seeking presenters (a couple of theaters) and a grant to launch it. Kubota recently published Hawaii Stories of Change, about activism in Hawaii in the early 1970s. The book, funded by the Hawaii Council for the Humanities and Hawaii People's Fund, is on permanent display on the University of Hawaii's Department of Ethnic Studies website.
