Gaven Trinidad

Gaven D. Trinidad is the Community Engagement Associate at New York Theatre Workshop. In 2018, he finished his MFA studies in dramaturgy at the UMass Amherst Department of Theatre, and has also completed a graduate certificate in Advanced Feminist Studies at the UMass Department of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Interested in dance, drama, and queer aesthetics, he’s interned and worked at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, New York Theatre Workshop, the TEAM, and Ma-Yi Theatre Company. Selected credits as Dramaturg: The Lily’s Revenge (dir. Jennifer Onopa), The Happiest Song Plays Last (dir. Jennifer Onopa), benevolence (dir. Ifa Bayeza), Collidescope 2.0 (dir. Ping Chong and Talvin Wilks), Red Wednesday (dir. Sanaz Ghajar), Angels in America (dir. Irene Crist). He was the administrative apprentice at The Juilliard School’s Drama Division during the 2018-2019 season. He is based in NYC, and he also works professionally as a freelance dramaturg, director, and playwright.
