Lyra Nalan Yang is a China-born, Baltimore-based playwright and translator. Her work focuses on issues surrounding gender, immigration, and mental health, particularly those involving the Chinese diaspora. She got her MFA in Writing for the Screen and Stage from Northwestern University.

She has received commissions from Silk Road Rising Theatre, Adventure Theatre MTC and Nothing Without a Company. Lyra is an awardee of the 2020 Judith Royer Excellence in Playwriting Award and 2020/2021 Horticultural Playwrights Workshop Fellowship.
