This Is Not A True Story is a new play reckoning with the problematic history and impact of Madame Butterfly, Miss Saigon, and Kumiko the Treasure Hunter. The play imagines a world where the heroines of these stories have a say in their telling, have choice, have agency, have a chance at changing their ill-fated endings.
