Roberta Uno

Born in Hawaiʻi, raised in LA and based on East Coast, I'm a theater director, writer, editor, and cultural organizer. I founded and was the Artistic Director (1979-2002) of New WORLD Theater Amherst, MA and am the Director of ArtChangeUS since (2015-present); managed the U.S. arts portfolio at the Ford Foundation (2002-15) and formerly Professor of Directing and Dramaturgy at UMass Amherst. I edited the first anthology of Asian American women playwrights, Unbroken Thread and several intersectional collections of plays and monologues. Currently directing the development of We the Peoples Before; Lori Pourier, Executive Producer and co-editing FUTURE/PRESENT: Culture in a Changing America. https://artsinachangingamerica.org
